Kansas City Monarchs in Your Hometown – Sat. Sept. 29th @ 10:30am

Are you interested in baseball? Want to hear about the history of the Kansas City Monarchs as well as their trip to Overbrook in 1954?

Join us at the library, where author and co-founder of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum Phil S. Dixon will present:

“The Kansas City Monarchs in Your Hometown” on Saturday, September 29th at 10:30am.

The event is free to the public and  should be a “home run” for all ages.

This presentation is a Humanities Kansas program in partnership with the Overbrook Public Library.

Congratulations to Super Volunteer Lynn Drake

Congratulations to our wonderful volunteer, Lynn Drake, who has received the 2018 Super Volunteer award from the Northeast Kansas Library System! She received this award after being nominated by our library staff.

We appreciate all of the hard work she puts in to make our library great. All of us are very happy to see her efforts recognized throughout northeast Kansas! She is an amazing member of our library team and the Overbrook community.

Be sure to congratulate Lynn when you see her and thank her for all her hard work.

End of Summer Reading Ice Cream Party

Hope everyone can join us next Tuesday 7/31 for our End of Summer Reading Ice Cream Party @ 10am! It’s been a great summer of events and reading and we hope you’ve all had fun!

Please join us Tuesday July 24th @ 10am in the Overbrook Library Community Room where our friends from the Topeka Zoo will be entertaining us with a selection of animals.
 
It’s sure to be great fun for all ages!
 
Our summer reading program will be ending with an Ice Cream Party on Tuesday, July 31st @ 10am. This will be the last day to get prizes, so get your reading in now!

OPL Trivia Night 2 – Electric Boogaloo

We hope you had fun at our previous Trivia Night back in February, despite the ice storm.

We’ll be hosting another trivia night Thursday, June 14th @ 6pm in the Overbrook Library Community Room, and we will hopefully have better weather!

Summer Reading season is upon us! Our kickoff party is Tuesday June 5th from 10am to 11:30am.

We’ll have Summer Reading registration, the first time to claim prizes, and some fun activities whenever you drop by! Get ready to “Rock ‘N Read” this summer at the Overbrook Public Library!
