Due to the storms and power outages around Overbrook yesterday, we have moved out Special Library Board Meeting to today, Tuesday 5/5 @ 1pm. The zoom link remains the same.

Library Remains Closed At This Time / Special Library Board Meeting
As you may have heard, the Gov. announced statewide reopening plans Thursday evening (4/30/20) and libraries are included among the business that are able to begin reopening in Phase 1 when the stay-at-home order ends starting Monday, 5/4/20. The statewide reopening plan is available here: https://covid.ks.gov/ad-astra-a-plan-to-reopen-kansas/
The Library remains closed at this time, as we prepare to restore library services. We are having a Special Library Board meeting on Monday 5/4/20 @ 1pm to discuss and approve a reopening plan. This meeting will be held via zoom and can be joined at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84684150443 . If you wish to speak or receive meeting materials, please e-mail me at ksederstrom@overbrook.lib.ks.us at least 1 hour prior to the meeting time.
We will be taking the recommendations of NEKLS, KLA, and ALA into consideration, as well communicating with the city and complying with Osage County Health Deparment directives for our plan. We are currently discussing a phased reopening plan, beginning with curbside service for locally held library items in the near future.
I plan to post details of the plan once approved on our website and on facebook, and announce our date to begin curbside service and procedures for making requests.
Thank you for you patience as we work to restore service while ensuring the safety of staff and our patrons. I have attached the agenda for the library board meeting on Monday 5/4/20.
Thanks,
Kyle Sederstrom

In order to ensure the safety of our board members, as well as any members of the public interested in attending the library board meetings. Overbrook Library Board will meet only virtually during our COVID-19 closure.
We are planning to continue to meet via zoom during our regularly scheduled board meeting time at 6pm on the 3rd Monday of the month. Our next meeting will be Monday, April 20th @ 6pm. We may call additional special meetings to discuss reopening the library as needed.
We will comply with procedures outlined in proposed regulation K.A.R. 16-20-1 during this time. Meeting agendas will be posted on the meeting website https://overbrook.mykansaslibrary.org . If you wish to receive notifications of meeting times and additional meeting materials please notify Library Director Kyle Sederstrom via e-mail.
An online zoom meeting link will be made available along with the agenda on the library website as well as posted on the library entrance window prior to the meeting if you wish to attend the board meeting. There will also be a meeting call-in number via telephone, but please note that the call-in number is long distance from Overbrook.
Thanks for your understanding as we move things online for the (hopefully short term) future.

Overbrook Public Library Closing through 3/31/2020
The health and safety of our community, patrons and staff are always our top priority at the Overbrook Public Library. On Monday, March 16 the White House COVID-19 task force made the recommendation that gatherings be limited to no more than 10 people and that gathering places in states that have had community transmission of the virus should be closed for the next 15 days.
In line with these recommendations, the Overbrook Public Library Board has decided to close the library, Community Room and Library Conference Room from this day through Tuesday, March 31st. The board will reconvene before that date to evaluate the need for additional closures.
All library due dates will be extended through our closure. We will be notifying those with community room reservations during this closure and refunding deposits, but are not rescheduling Community Room or Conference Room events until we have reopened.
In addition, no book donations will be accepted until further notice.
During this time, we would encourage you to use your library card to check out digital items using Hoopla, and we will be increasing the digital checkout limit from 5 to 10 items per month. There are also e-book options available through the Kansas State Library at kslib.info. If you need help getting set up with Hoopla or need a state library e-card, you can e-mail staff@overbrook.lib.ks.us, and we would be happy to assist you.
Please check out our website (https://overbrook.mykansaslibrary.org/) or facebook (https://www.facebook.com/overbrookpubliclibrary/) for additional updates.
Thank you for your understanding.
