The health and safety of our community, patrons and staff are always our top priority at the Overbrook Public Library. On Monday, March 16 the White House COVID-19 task force made the recommendation that gatherings be limited to no more than 10 people and that gathering places in states that have had community transmission of the virus should be closed for the next 15 days.
In line with these recommendations, the Overbrook Public Library Board has decided to close the library, Community Room and Library Conference Room from this day through Tuesday, March 31st. The board will reconvene before that date to evaluate the need for additional closures.
All library due dates will be extended through our closure. We will be notifying those with community room reservations during this closure and refunding deposits, but are not rescheduling Community Room or Conference Room events until we have reopened.
In addition, no book donations will be accepted until further notice.
During this time, we would encourage you to use your library card to check out digital items using Hoopla, and we will be increasing the digital checkout limit from 5 to 10 items per month. There are also e-book options available through the Kansas State Library at kslib.info. If you need help getting set up with Hoopla or need a state library e-card, you can e-mail staff@overbrook.lib.ks.us, and we would be happy to assist you.
Please check out our website (https://overbrook.mykansaslibrary.org/) or facebook (https://www.facebook.com/overbrookpubliclibrary/) for additional updates.
Thank you for your understanding.
