Library Remains Closed At This Time / Special Library Board Meeting

As you may have heard, the Gov. announced statewide reopening plans Thursday evening (4/30/20) and libraries are included among the business that are able to begin reopening in Phase 1 when the stay-at-home order ends starting Monday, 5/4/20. The statewide reopening plan is available here: https://covid.ks.gov/ad-astra-a-plan-to-reopen-kansas/

The Library remains closed at this time, as we prepare to restore library services. We are having a Special Library Board meeting on Monday 5/4/20 @ 1pm to discuss and approve a reopening plan. This meeting will be held via zoom and can be joined at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84684150443 . If you wish to speak or receive meeting materials, please e-mail me at ksederstrom@overbrook.lib.ks.us at least 1 hour prior to the meeting time.

We will be taking the recommendations of NEKLS, KLA, and ALA into consideration, as well communicating with the city and complying with Osage County Health Deparment directives for our plan. We are currently discussing a phased reopening plan, beginning with curbside service for locally held library items in the near future.

I plan to post details of the plan once approved on our website and on facebook, and announce our date to begin curbside service and procedures for making requests.

Thank you for you patience as we work to restore service while ensuring the safety of staff and our patrons. I have attached the agenda for the library board meeting on Monday 5/4/20.

Thanks,
Kyle Sederstrom
Library Director
